Black Myth: Wukong's Story, Release Date, and Platforms
Black Myth: Wukong is based on the Chinese novel Journey to the West. Many fans have also started drawing the comparison to the original Dragon Ball manga, which was also inspired by the same novel.
The release date of Black Myth: Wukong isn't confirmed as of yet, but developer Game Science has plans of completing and releasing the game by 2023. The most interesting piece of information about the developer is that it's a relatively small Indie studio, while Black Myth: Wukong has a playable demo that looks to be of AAA quality with state of the art visuals and gameplay. While this may be the studio's debut title, the team has worked on MMORPGs and free-to-play mobile games, and eventually decided to go all out on a AAA experience around sometime in 2017.
Black Myth Wukong Pc Requirements
On the topic of release platforms, Black Myth: Wukong is currently in development for PC. But the developer has stated, though, its intentions to release the game on 'mainstream consoles.' Given the time frame, it seems likely that the game will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X as well, although this has not been directly confirmed.
Black Myth: Wukong's Gameplay
Black Myth: Wukong's gameplay looks to be strikingly similar to From Software games like Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. On further inspection, however, the abilities and the acrobatics make it a lot similar to something like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It has been described as a Soulslike, but at the same time, it also has a lot of its own going for it.
The game revealed its first gameplay showcase in August of last year in a meaty 10-minute long trailer that showcased all the elements at play. The combat of Black Myth: Wukong is much faster and is focused equal parts on both carefully attacking at a time and building huge combos. Players are also treated to a couple of absolutely brutal boss fights, one of which looks strikingly similar to one of Sekiro's best bosses, the Guardian Ape. There looks to be a great deal of diversity in the gameplay as well as the areas players will get to explore.
The second trailer was revealed recently which is a cinematic trailer, with bits of gameplay that is more focused on showcasing the scope of the game. Some fans have started to speculate some form of a downgrade with this rendition, but most of this looks to be attributed to the framerate of the video. The newer trailer is a cinematic one with a locked 24 fps while the original was a 60 fps, which makes the combat look a bit rougher. However, fans are happy to see that the game is still being expanded upon, as newer areas can be seen along with new transformations such as one that looks to be similar to a grasshopper.
Black Myth: Wukong seems to be really large in scope, and from what's seen, the game appears to be very promising. For now, though, fans have a long wait before any final conclusions can be drawn.
Black Myth: Wukong is currently in development for PC and 'mainstream' consoles.
